Lita Rossana Ford - also known as Lita Ford - is an American guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter of British heritage. In the mid 1970s, she served as a leader guitarist in the girl-only hard rock band The Runaways. The band was never able to the group to be popular in the US, however they did gain a lot of traction throughout the world, especially Japan. When the band broke up in 1979, Ford embarked upon a lucrative solo career in heavy metal. Following lessons in voice she released her solo debut album "Out for Blood" which was followed by "Dancin' in the Dark". The albums didn't get much attention, and Ford was a bit absent from the world of rock for a few years. The smash hit album Lita which came out in 1989, served as the catalyst that led to her reemergence. the single "Kiss Me Deadly" and the ballad "Close My Eyes Forever" were both big hits. However, the success of her music was brief after which she was absent from the industry for several years. The album "Black" album debuted in 1995 and her 'Wicked Wonderland" album came out almost 15 years after. The year was 2016, and her latest album, 'Time Capsule' it was released. Her name was awarded The Certified Guitar Legend Award by Guitar Player Magazine.
